Prayer can be overwhelming, confusing, and frustrating. We want to be "good prayers", but want do you say to the God who rules the Universe? What can you say?
This leaves us with a culture of "Thoughts and Prayers". Our prayers are pretty limp, passive, vague, and a bit like a dead fish. These are not the prayers that expand our understanding of God, or stretch us. They are a cliche of the real relationship we want with God.
In our Through series, we are going to look at 4 simple 4-word prayers which will revolutionize our prayer life, and help us take the big God ideas in us, and see them realized.
Today we look at the Parable of the Persistent Widow. She demonstrates the type of prayer I want in my life…your life. Not subtle. Not silent. Expectant. Not limp, not passive, nor vague. Her prayer is definitely not a limp fish, but more like trying to reel in a Bluefin Tuna.
